TEXAS BOOMERS CHRISTMAS RALLY

Another Awesome Texas Boomers Rally.  Our 2011 Christmas Rally was held at the KOA Conroe. The Biggest Christmas Rally ever held 53 Rigs and almost 110 attendies. This year we honored our Beloved Members Barb Elerbrock and Beverly Montgomery bot were lost to Cancer thhis year.  Donations were made to MD Anderson and Blood donations were given to Comitt for Life. The following pictures will show the fun had by all.

As this Rally ended, Baby Dunkette got another set of parents, poor child keeps getting bounced around. Her new Parents David and Mary Lovitt seem to be excitedd about taking her on some fantastic journies.  The long lost duct taped Flamingos are back home after a successful career at Las Vegas.  The excitement with the Texas Boomers continues, in October our Leaderfest with the World Famous Garbage Can Dinner will be at San Marcos, Texas, looking forward to another exciting time. Little late in getting this one posted. Another Great Texas Boomers Campout at the Advanced RV Resort in Pearland Texas, good turnout but boy was it Hot and very windy. As soon as we got back we had to take the RV in for some repairs, not sure where the water come from, but it sure has affected the bottom of the slide-out, no other damage inside the rig so we're kinda in the dark about the damage. Also need to have the wheel repacked and a few minor things. Till the next time I will try to get things posted sooner.

Another Texas Boomers Campout. Bandera, Texas in the Hill Country. David and Mary Lovitt did a great job planning this one. There were 19 rigs, plus a few visitors. As always Great Food and Fellowship. Finally got the rig all washed and waxed, still need to reseal the roof.

Another Great Texas Boomers Campout at Coushatte RV Ranch in Bellville, Texas. This year we decided to bring back some bling, and opted for a 50's & 60's Sock Hop. Although the weather wasen't the best, cold,we had a great time. The rally Hall was decorated with 50's and 60's theme and Howard the park owner provided a great meal prepared at Howard's Diner. As some of the pictures show poodle Skirts were the in thing. Looking forward to another Camp out in March. Till next time.

Cancer Free !!!!

We just received the Greatest News ever, after the CAT Scan and tests, Amber is Cancer Free.
It has been a long and trying journey but the trip is over. She is scheduled to have the port removed on Friday this week and the forst follow up is in three months. Thanks to all that have prayed and talked to her through this. A very Special Thank You from me to Jim, Thanks guy I don't think I could have made it without your support. We're looking forward to the November Camp out at Cut-N-Shoot next week-end. The picture attached is Amber's double ruffle hybiscus that decided finally it was time to bloom. Another Great Texas Boomers Rally at Coushatte RV Ranch in Bellvile, Texas.

Had a Pumpkin Decorating and Color Book Contest, the Dinner consisted of the Workd Famous Garbage Can Dinner. Everyone had a Great time and the annual Auction and Raffle were an Awesome success. Looking forward to the November Camp Out at Cut-N-Shoot. Great Fun, Food and Fellowship and as always, Life is Sweet when the Boomers Meet. Untill next time.

Well, hopefully all the Chemo treatments are complete, the Neulasta shot tomorrow and it's over. Amber rings the bell announcing the end of her Chemo treatments. We are very optimistic about the results of the PET scan yet to be done showing that she is Cancer free. As very special Thank You to those who have included Amber in their prayers, cards and e-mails. Our prayer is that no one should have to face this, it is terrible. Will post the final YEA it's over as soon as we know. Myself, Leza and Sandy Creekmore were there for this joyus event and we made sure Judy and Jim Sims could hear the Bell ring while they were touring God's wonders in the changing of the Seasons. Almost Finished with Chemo

Just an update on Amber, Chemo number 5 was a real bummer, the steriods,Chemo and Neulasta really took full effect this time around.

Amber is really tough and it was so hard to see her in this condition,she is really fiighting it hard. The final Chemo and Neulasta will be in three weeks and she is looking forward to the final and ringing the Bell at the Camcer Center. A very greatfull THANK YOU to everyone who has supported her through e-mails, cards and all the Prayers, and my special Thanks to Jim Sims who, has been a GREAT support for me through all of this.

We really missed being with all our Boomer friends over the Labor Day Rally at Bourne. Looks like everyone had a Great time. We're sure there will be many more good times with the Texas Boomes in upcomming months. We will let you know when the final is over. God knows we wouldn't wish this condition on our worse enemies. Ambers Third Chemo comming up

Amber's Third Chemo and Neulasta treatments comming up this Wednesday. We pray this treatment will go good also, the last ones were better. Lots of ranin over the past few days, you can almost hear the grass growing. Last year our Musical Notes Plant didn't bloom to well, this year another story, full of blooms as you can see in the picture. Every end is loaded with blooms they don't last long but are really unique.

A number of our Texas Boomer's friends are on their way or have already arrived to the 2010 irv2 National in Williams , AZ. We have always wanted to go to the Grand Canyon, but Amber's unexpected Cancer put a stop on it for this year. We hope all those attending have a safe trip there and back and a very enjoyable time while they are there.

Update on Amber

Just a small entry, to reflect on Amber's condition. She had her second Chemo treatment along with her Neulasta. Did a lot better this time around, the Neulasta still gives her lots of trouble.

Considering, she is doing good, has lost most of her hair and still has some reocurring pain, but she's extremely tough and knows she will beat the Monster. We truly appreciate all the Prayers and support from our many friends, prayers really work. Will try a little harder to keep everyone up to date on her treatments.

Didn't do much over the 4th, we usually have all the kids and Grandkids over for a cook-out, but this year we passed. We just stayed home, it's a bit dangerious for her to be around people while she's going thru the treatments. Untill next time God Bless everyone and the U.S.A.

Well, it's been awhile since we last posted and quite a few thing have developed. Amber was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer, dealing with that has been quite a challange, she is doing fine has lost some hair, but dealing with it real well. Since her numbers were good we decided to head out camping this week-end with a group of the Texas Boomers. This was our third trip to Lake Medina RV Resort, but it seems each time gets better. Great company and a great campout. We packed up the trailer, Lilbit and ask Leza and Keith to go with us. This is a beautiful Campground right on Lake Medina, lots of shade and lots of deer. Had a Great week-end, the trip back home however; is another story. I made a wrong turn and boy did we get lost, I knew we were when we crossed a creek running over the road, finally stoped and ask a farmer how to get out of there, made it, just an additional scenic drive LOL. Well, the majority of the redo is complete, just adding the quarter round and a few paint touch ups and we're done. Leza was a great help in all the painting, she did almost all of it during her Spring Break. Keith helped Mike with the floors. Amber is very happy with it and you know if Momma ain't happy ain't no one happy.!!!!!!

PopCorn Ceiling Texture

Boy, what a heck of a name for a ceiling texture, that is truly a real pain in the hind end. We decide to do a little redo on the house. We removed the carpet in the Living Room and Hall and decided to remove the 20 plus wood floor in the Dining room for a total new look... Well while we were doing all of this it was unanimous that we repaint the room also. Here is the saga of the Pop Corn texture on the ceiling, it is literally a pain to try to paint and requires the ability to hold a civil tongue. With 13' Cathedral ceilings it was truly an effort, but the girls did it Great. I don't know what great mind thought this type of ceiling was cool, but I would like to meet him and invite him to paint over it. Were doing the walls now and should be ready to install the new flooring this week-end, Keith, Todd and Dad will get this part started. Everyone attending assured us that they had a Fantastic time. Of course we all know that LIFE IS SWEET WHEN THE BOOMERS MEET, Till next time enjoy the memories.

Another Christmas Past

Had a Wonderful Christmas, the Grandkids really enjoyed it. Amber was a bit under the weather so I had the honors of getting Dinner ready, everyone ate it and no one got sick so I guess I did pretty well. Leza and Keith were in Georgia this year spending Christmas with his family. We rotate every year so we will entertain them next year. We hope everyone had a Wonderful Christmas and a Great NEW YEAR.

Another Fantastic Rally

Another fantastic Rally, this one was the Texas Boomers Annual Christmas Rally at Rayford Crossing. Real good turn out and lots of fun, fellowship and of course Great Food and plenty of it. Our Friends Jim and Judy, married on the Thursday prior to the Rally, Great Couple, they celebrated with the Boomers. Weather was a bit misty and foggy, kinda like London, but never held us up, Great time. We are definately Blessed to have so many friends some we see often, others only on the Special Rallies, but we enjoy all of them and look forward to seeing them.

Best time of the Year

Well, in just a few short weeks we will celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It's hard to believe another year has almost passed, and we even met more people, we are truly blessed. Thanksgiving was great with the Girls handeling a bit of it of course Mom and I did the biggest part, still piecing on the leftovers. Finally went to pick up the trailer from Coushatte campground, we had a really nice site and kinda hated to put her back in storage. All cleaned up and waxed, but I see rain in the forecast. Checked the slideout going in and it apeared that all the seals were ok, guess will find out more after the sweetheart campout. Amber and Leza went bead shopping yesterday, getting ready to make some more jewelry for gifts, etc. Looking forwrd to the Christmas Rally and seeing some friends we haven't seen in a while, till next time.

Oh Wow first problem

Well, we just experienced our first major problem with the trailer. We left it at Coushatte to wash and wax it and clean the interior real good. The last time out we noticed an area under the slide out that had been wet. The residue was rusty colored and ran from under the slide out in front of the bar and against the curbside. Saturday when we went out and Amber found an area in front of the Dinette seat that had been wet, and bubbled the floor in a small area by it. It did not get under the seat area just in front by the street side wall. Well don't you know that since Coachman sold out to Forrest River they have no service department and only Robbie the Robot answering the phones. I emailed the service department of Forrest River, but haven't heard from them yet. The unit was just a year old the end of June, and had been giving it good reviews, no major problems till this. I'm off Tuesday and Wednesday and hope to fing the problem and get it fixed. The quality of RV's still appear to be there, any brand any type, hopefully the manufactures can get their S=== togeather and regain customer confidence, it seems customer service has went by the wayside.

Coushatte Campout

Another Great Campout with the Texas Boomers, it was nice to see so many old friends and a few new ones. The weather couldn't have been much better, mild sunny days and cool evenings.
I had the first chance to use my new fire pit that I got at the September Rally auction. Saturday's visit to the Newman Castle was nice. It is hard to imagine that one man could have done so much work in building that castle. For those of you that may have missed it here is the link to the castle site. Newman's Castle Slideshow . We are definately Blessed to have so many old and new friends, and to have been given the opportunity to have been asked to be the area leaders for the Southeast Boomers. Sorry we didn't get any pictures. I have a few video clips but don't know how to post.
